Oh hi, This is a place for tumbling, so I'll be posting various art stuff that I do... and Craft stuff. I like a lot of stuff so there will be variety and such and fun and such.
Ok I dug around and it looks like they’re working from Alyssa Creates’ Sun and Moon granny square pattern. I found the star on Alyssa Creates’ youtube channel
Hey, I found a beanie boo that I liked the design of but I can't stand those giant uguu eyes. Do you think it would be possible to replace them with smaller safety eyes akin to the old beanie babies? If yes, do you have any advice?
I think my favorite bit i do with customers is when white women are like ‘i dont know what to getttttt’ and i hit them with the ‘you should be bad~ 😈’
Saying ‘you should be bad!!’ In like Gay Voice to a white woman at starbucks has like the same psychological impact as going like ‘who’s a good boy?’ To a dog. It makes them so excited in a really endearing way.
Tbh I think fandom generally needs to get better at sitting with the uncomfortable fact that a story/fanwork/meme/whatever can hurt one person and help another
This is why I think “tag warning” culture is kinder and more constructive than cancel culture / “no problematic content” culture. One size does not fit all, but if we learn to be more aware of the fact that the same thing can be emotionally validating or cathartic to one person and upsetting to another, and pick up a general mindset of thinking before we post, “what might people need a heads up for in this content?”, we grow more compassionate, more thoughtful, and more understanding of the differences in people’s experiences.
My finished contribution to the @fandomtrumpshate craft bazaar! Honestly, this may be my favorite typeset I’ve done to date, combined with one of the more elaborate cutout designs I’ve made in a while. (I learned the hard way that it’s time for me to change the blade on my Silhouette cutter, lol. Protip: if it’s chewing up the paper/cloth on skinny elements like the pixellated raindrops + puddle here, get a new, sharper blade!) It included all the 80s cyberspace nonsense/vaporwave aesthetic I could cram into one book, some intensely sparkly decorative paper that popped against the black bookcloth exactly how I hoped it would, and yet another excellent last-minute endpaper find courtesy of the Renegade Retreat.
As I’ve gotten more proficient at typesetting, I’ve found I really love creating visual markers for POV swaps – in this case, changing the drop caps and scene dividers depending on whether the chapter was from Sollux or Terezi’s POV:
And of course, I have to give a huge shout-out to @isozyme and @roach-works for letting me include their art! (Alas, I forgot to snap a picture of roachpatrol’s art before sending off the book, but it’s this A+++ piece right here.)
As always, thank you so much to beanutbutter for their incredible generosity during FTH, and to the whole FTH team for running the auction! If you haven’t had the chance to read “The Vienna Game” yet, you can at the link above.
fanbinding is SO cool! this one turned out dope as fuck
fanbinding is one of the coolest things in the world imo
the Algorithm watching me search for increasingly unhinged shit like “boycow bopbees” until it decides there is no way a normal human would be doing this
